Summer Camp

Summer camp is a big part in scouting since the time of Baden-Powell. On 25th July, 1907 Lord Baden-Powell took 22 scouts to Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour, England for the first ever summer camp. At that time those boys where divided into 4 patrols:   the Wolves, Bulls, Curlews and Ravens. From that point on there has been a steady increase in the number of young men going to summer camp.

Troop 813 has been to several different Council Sponsored camps over the years. Since 1998 the scouts have choosen to go out of our home council to Camp Bud Shielde in North Carolina. Well once again for summer of '01 the scouts are going back to this camp.
